Hello Priscilla,

I get it. Training takes time.  It's often hard to carve that into a production schedule - especially when deadlines are tight, lead times are long, and crews are spread thin.

But here’s the thing: training doesn’t always have to mean pulling people into a classroom. On a recent jobsite visit, I watched a new hire point out a snag in how materials were being staged. Instead of brushing him off, the crew stopped to listen. Within minutes, they had swarmed the problem, added ideas, and solved it together.

That five-minute huddle was training. The kind that actually sticks. And the real magic happens when those quick wins don’t just fade away but get captured and rolled into a new best practice the whole team can use.

That’s what continuous improvement really is—everyday learning moments, owned by the whole crew, and built into the way the work gets done.

If you want to see how to spark more of these “swarm and solve” moments—and make them last—I share more in my latest blog: Swarm and Solve: Building a Team Culture of Continuous Improvement.

In the meantime, keep looking for those small moments that turn into big improvements - Happy Swarming!
